About my art
I forge a pathway between hopes of faith and dreams of imagination for bold adventurers who stand strong against their own harrowing storms or mythic dragons. These weapons of canvas and paint will equip you for battle and the grit and determination to scale the cliff’s edge and reach the summit.
About Eli
I am a storyteller, animator and image maker.
I love working immediately into an image’s final form: putting ink directly on the page without a sketch, or bathing a white page in black charcoal.
If you want prints, I got you! But I work to make one-of-one paintings, charcoal images, gelli plate prints, ink scrawls and graphite sketches.
For animation I do things the long hard way, the only way: individual drawings, frame by frame, on paper, no lightbox. I leave the drawings as they are, no clean up. Graphite. Carbon. Crayon. Ink. Get it on the page and photograph it. It keeps the animation alive, while preserving it’s original painstaking techniques, rather than plunging it into modern day digital “efficiencies.”
I work hard to make strong and courageous stories with an unflinching look at the hardest struggles and most difficult questions life has to offer. God is the Lord of all of it. We cannot then hide from the hard parts. From pain and trauma and sorrow - to the beautiful, unrelenting aspirations that lead people to crawl over glass to reach their goal.
