Joan has a sharp tongue, and a magnetic personality. She demanded chastity and purity from the men in her army. She cried when the English called her a whore. She listened to her voices when the clerics questioned her. She could not be tamed by an army of men, on the battlefield or in the courts. Even fire did not silence her. She cried out to Jesus as she was burned to ashes. Here she is unburdened, resting in prayer.
This is an original work of art. A one-of-one charcoal drawing. It was used during a Gelli Plate transfer to produce a one-of-one color print. This beautiful original retains every smudge, every wrinkle, every finger print of art-making.
